Pilates

Pilates Reformer PicPilates is a fitness program developed by Joseph Pilates in the 20th century.  Pilates is based around 7 basic principles consisting of breathing, centering, concentration, control, precision, flow of efficiency of movement and flexibility. Exercises are preformed with attention to breath, releasing and preventing tension.  Building core strength and control through movement will benefit posture and spinal alignment.  When our muscles are weak they make compensations for each other, which lead to instability and injury.  Pilates encourages you to think about how you perform everyday movements.  It heightens your body awareness which in turn improves your overall agility, flexibility and strength.  It helps you to ensure your body is working at its optimal level all the time.  Pilates can give people with pain an opportunity to move in a pain-free manner, as well as preventing injury.

 How can it help me?

Pilates can assist with:

  • Spinal pain (lower/mid back and neck)
  • Poor posture
  • Body awareness/relaxation
  • Pelvic floor weakness (e.g. incontinence)

  • Monday 4:30pm-5:30pm
  • Tuesday 5pm-6pm
  • Friday 7:30am-8:30am

+ possible monday 12-1 pm class* decided on amount of interest we recieve

LANDSBOROUGH PHYSIO:

  • Thursday 4:30pm-5:30pm

Pilates classes are $25 per person. Or $120 for 6 sessions (saving you $30!) Bookings are essential. Health reabtes may apply depending on your health fund.
